Governance

Hope Community School, Sidcup is part of The New Generation Schools Trust. As a free school, we have been set up by the Trust with the full support of the government in response to what local people feel they need in order to provide an additional choice of education for children in their community.

See more information about the New Generation Schools Trust Members and Trustees here. You can find our current Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association and Funding Agreement here. Our Annual accounts are available here.

We are established as an academy, which means we are independent from the local authority, therefore, we receive our funding directly from the central government and have the flexibility to set our own curriculum.

We are subject to inspections by Ofsted, Section 48 and our SATs results are published in tables in the same way as traditional state schools.

We have a local governing body which is responsible for working with the school to ensure it delivers high-quality education.

The Local Governing Body at Hope Community School, Sidcup have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the Principal accountable for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of the staff
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure finances are well spent

You can see details of our 'Declarations of Interests Statement' and 'Attendance' in the Local Governing Body tab to the right.
