Funding Agreement secured 

Hope Community School, Southampton to open in September

Hope Community School, Southampton has been given the seal of approval from the Government, paving the way for it to open in September 2017.

The Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, formally agreed to enter into a Funding Agreement with New Generation Schools Trust to establish the opening of Hope Community School, Southampton on 7th April 2017.

Funding Agreement is the contract between the Government and New Generation Schools Trust which gives Hope Community School - Southampton's first Free School – formal Free School status and confirms funding going forward.

Principal Steve Wright said: "This is fantastic news for Hope Community School and the children who will attend it. A lot of people have put in an incredible amount of work and dedication to get to this point. We cannot wait to open our doors in September to welcome our first two reception classes of children."

Chair of the New Generation Schools Trust, the organisation sponsoring the school, Paul Weston, added: "We're absolutely delighted to reach this vital milestone". "What started as a dream to provide more school places for children in the centre of Southampton is now a reality."
